November 8th Pictures

We started off the morning by using our small motor muscles and squeezing eye droppers filled with colors onto coffee filters.  We will later take and use our scissors to cut these filters to make leaves to glue on trees.

Then after all of our friends arrived, we had Jesus Time and previewed the story of "Joshua and the Battle of Jericho".  The students had to draw a picture of something that God can do because we know that "God can do anything".  I will take these drawings and make a huge collage in the hallway next week.
After Jesus time, we worked on our sorting.  Everyone did a great job!  I used this activity as the formal assessment for the portfolios.

While students were sorting with me, some of the students worked with "shape blocks" at one table.
The other students were working with Mrs. Robertson coloring circles.

Then we had a special visitor from the Magic House come and visit.  Miss Carla came and did a program about our "Scent-sational Senses".  The kids did a wonderful job of listening and following her directions.

She is talking about the sense of touch in this picture.
Then after our busy morning inside, we were finally able to go outside and explore our new addition to the playground.  We are calling it "The Dome".  The kids had fun exploring it!

Then we used our creative skills and realized that we could use the buckets to get up on it!  Good thinking! :)

A great day!  Please remember that tomorrow is Muffins for Moms in the gym starting at 7 a.m.  Hope to see you there!  Our Thanksgiving Food Drive started yesterday and will run through the 15th!  Any canned food that you bring in, you can place in the wagon in the Sonshine Center lobby.
On Thursday, I will send you information regarding the Early Childhood Christmas Service.  I know it seems early, but it will be here before you know it.
