Pictures for Feb. 28th

We had a great Tuesday!  

We started off our morning by making puppets so that we could do puppet shows in our new puppet theater that showed up in our classroom!

 Then for Jesus Time, we talked about how we were going to hide the word "Alleluia" during Lent.  Each child colored an Alleluia banner and then I hid them in the classroom.  It will be fun to get them out after Easter so that we can "Alleluia!"

 Then we read the story of "Goldilocks and the 3 Bears" and I had the students predict what would happen throughout the story!  It is great to hear them using story clues and looking at the pictures to help them predict or guess what will come next.  They had to show me with their faces how the bears would feel when they came home to their house!  A lot of angry bears!

 Then we had some recess time and then went on a field trip to God's house!  We went there to practice our songs that we will sing for our grandparents next week!  We are so excited for them to come!

 Back in the classroom during Center Time, Mrs. Horton and I did our February pages for our portfolio.  Each child had to write their name and then do a journal page.

We had a great day!

Pictures for Feb. 23rd

We had a great Thursday!  We started the fun in gym!  

 We worked on our shoulder muscles today by rolling the ball up the wall as high as we could and then we did it again, and again.  Phew, quite the workout for our muscles!

We weren't able to get pictures of everyone; next week will get pictures of the remaining students.
Then we came back to class and enjoyed some alphabet time.  We sang 2 new ABC songs and played
"I Spy" to try to find letters.

We also worked on patterning today.  I did an assessment of each student to see where they were at with the ABAB pattern.

 Then we had fun painting out store!  We have 2 stores that we will be transforming over the next couple of weeks.  Today we painted one of the boxes and next week we will work on scissor skills to put toys in our toy store.  We will also have to name our store...what do you think we will name it?

 During Jesus time, we talked about Ash Wednesday and how Jesus took our sins away.  I had each student tell me a sin and then we burned them and then used those ashes to paint crosses on purple paper, the color of Lent.  These crosses will be hanging up in the hallway and classroom to remind us of the love that Jesus has for us!  Next week we will be burying "Alleluia" to remind us that we don't say that during Lent.

We were so busy today and had so much fun!  The morning goes by so quick because we are having so much fun!  Have a great weekend!
