November 29th Pictures

This morning we started off by writing the letter "T" on the SMARTboard.  I am taking my time with the students writing the letters.  It is so important that correct habits are formed when writing letters, so I want to make sure that your child is writing it correctly before moving onto a new letter.

Mrs. Hoehner came in this morning to help us practice playing bells for the Christmas Service.  What a great way to use our talents to praise God for the birth of Jesus!
We had chapel today and listened to Mr. Schlesselman, the Executive Director from St. Charles Lutheran High School, talk about how we can prepare for the birth of Jesus.  He showed us ornaments that he uses to decorate his Christmas Tree; that helps him prepare for Jesus!

Then we went outside for a short recess!  Brrrr!

During Center Time, the students enjoyed building with blocks...
 and playing in the kitchen....

 or at the Light Table....

I worked with the students on the letter L using chalkboards.  We wrote the letter 3 ways; using our fingers, using chalk, and finally using a wet sponge to make our "L" disappear!

Mrs. Robertson worked the students on an art project for our Christmas Service!  Shhh!  We want it to be a surprise!

We had a great day!  See you on Thursday!

November 22nd Pictures

Today we had a great day; despite the rainy weather that kept us inside all day!

We started off our morning with Jesus Time where we talked about things that God has given us and how we should thanks for these things!  Each child was given a page to draw a picture and tell me what he/she wanted to say Thank You to God for; they did a great job!

Next Mrs. Helmkamp (one of Zion's Full Day Preschool Teachers) came in and popped popcorn for us for snack.  We enjoyed watching the popcorn pop in the machine and we really enjoyed eating it for snack!

Then it was Writing Time!  I showed the students the letter "T" using the SMARTboard.  Next week we will practice writing this letter.

Some of us tried it on the SMARTboard.
Then it was Center Time!  We had a great time creating giant roads together and running our cars down it!

Some of us enjoyed playing in the kitchen!   I "ate" a lot of great food created by my many chefs!

While Center Time was going on, each student came over and worked on cutting skills to create a Christmas art project.  Each student picked 3 papers and then cut along the lines to cut out 3 different strips.  These strips were glued down to make a Christmas Tree.  I took pictures of the trees and put them on Artsonia!  The originals are hanging up in our classroom!

A bunch of the students decided to color together!

Then we ended the day starting to make the Christmas art project that will be part of the Christmas Service that is taking place on December 11th at 4 p.m.
