A fun Thursday!  We did a couple of activities using the SMARTboard today!  We enjoyed writing and counting animals today.  During gym time, we played with beach balls to help us practice our catching skills.  We also bounced basketballs and practiced dribbling.  I think that we might have a few future basketball players! :)

During Jesus Time, we revisited the story of Zacchaeus.  We focused on how Zacchaeus made bad choices, but Jesus still wanted to be his friend.   We also make bad choices and need forgiveness, but our families and friends still love us, but most importantly Jesus still loves us!

We also spent time sharing things that were important to us.  It was exciting that several students felt comfortable to get in front of the class and talk about things that were important to them (i.e. spotting a turtle in the yard, going on a trip).  After the class listened, I asked the class to ask 2 questions to each person that shared information.  They did a great job asked relevant questions!  So much growth has occurred this year!!!

Some of us finished the page to our animal book!  It is looking great!

Mrs. Horton had a treat for us today!  She brought in her guinea pig, Rocket!  She let us all pet it if we wanted and some of us even held Rocket!  It was fun!

Today we talked about what a habitat is; that word we will be talking about for the next few weeks.  I read about giraffes and we looked at the giraffe's habitat and decided that it was grass and trees.  During Center Time, some students worked with me to create a habitat for the giraffe.

Mrs. Horton worked on the SMARTboard with the students.  Each student came up and clicked on a spinner.  It had the numbers 1-4 on it.  After it landed on a number, the student had to drag that number of animals over to the habitat.  Everyone had fun with this game!

Here is the habitat for the giraffe-we are gluing down grass.

Then, after that habitat was made, we brought out the animals and played!

Our finished habitat!  A lot of animals!
