Pictures from Oct. 4th

Today we had a great day in Preschool!  It was chapel day and we listened to Mrs. Amy Bernhardt (Zion's 1st Grade Teacher) tell us about Noah!  The kids sat really well and were excited because we have been going over the liturgy in class and they knew 3 of the songs.  We will keep going over the liturgy in class until the students have it all memorized.  If you haven't done this already, you can teach your child the Lord's Prayer.   This will help your child not only in chapel, but when you attend church as a family because they can participate with the rest of the congregation and that means a lot to your child to be just like the grownups! :)

Today we worked on our capital letters during Writing time, drew lines using 3 different colors of crayons, and worked on sorting our square tiles into colors.  Then after chapel, we went on a leaf hunt and found different leaves around Zion's campus.  On Thursday we will see how we can sort those leaves...

Now is a great time to start pointing out leaves and trees to your child because so much change will start happening the next couple of weeks.

During Center time, some kids painted a fall picture with me. We ended the day with some fun songs to sing!

Thank you to those who turned in your color bag for our color collage.  On Thursday, we will start gluing those items down to our color collage.  You can turn those bags in at your earliest convenience.  Also, if your child ever see somethings that is a rainbow color and wants to bring it in, great!  We will keep adding as long as there is room on our collage!

Tomorrow after school, Zion's faculty will meet and we will assign times for Parent/Teacher Conferences.  I will give you your time on Thursday.  On October 20th, we will have school and dismiss the normal time of 11:00 a.m.  There is Lunch Bunch that day, but it will be done at 12:00 p.m.  Email me if you have any questions about that day!

See you on Thursday!

Drawing our lines.  Each paper had bees, ladybugs, and ants on it and the students had to draw lines using different colors down from each bug.

Using our wood pieces and Capitol Letter cards, the students worked on making all of the letters.

Sorting our colors

After sorting the tiles, he decided to sort the colored rubber bands too!

Coming back from our Leaf Hunt

We got our leaves out and started examining them

One of the students noticed there was a "long pole" on her leaf...hmmmm!
