We had a great Tuesday! We had fun wearing sports shirts and enjoyed our picnic outside.
During the picnic I was in charge of dishing out pizza to the 100 students that attended the pizza, so I was very busy. Unfortunately I was not able to take pictures. I am hoping to get some other pictures from the other teachers. If I get any, I will be sure to pass them on!
Our class enjoyed the picnic and enjoyed playing with the 2nd graders that paired up with us!
Today we continued our exploration of caterpillars and butterflies! Our class pets have made their new homes and are hanging in the butterfly net. I am hoping that next week we will have some butterflies!
We worked on making a caterpillar today using daubers! I wrote a number down on the paper and each child had to stamp that many circles to make a caterpillar.
Then we watched the story The Hungry Caterpillar on a YouTube video! We reviewed what happened in the beginning, the middle, and the end of the story.
We then colored the fruit that the caterpillar ate and on Thursday we will use that fruit to retell the story!
After recess and snack, we headed over to the church for our Jesus Time. I introduced the story of Ascension to the class. A helium balloon was used to help illustrate the story that Jesus is up in heaven. We will continue that story on Thursday and do a fun craft to help reinforce the story.
We practiced going up the stairs. Some of us thought that it would be a different side to go up!
Then the class helped me get ready for the picnic and the fun began!
