Today was our creative day in the classroom! We enjoyed trying to draw butterflies on paper that was folded in half. After each student drew a body and two wings, I cut their creation out. Later in the morning, each student was able to paint his/her butterfly. I will have the ones that are finished hanging up in the classroom on Tuesday.
Then we had fun creating our Mother's Day presents. We made a 3-D painting for our wonderful moms. Each child was asked to draw a branch and then paint the background with liquid watercolors. Then we took tissue paper squares and balled them up and glued them down to make a flowered branch. I heard many children saying, "My mom is going to think this is beautiful!" We had fun creating a special project for our special moms!
Then it was time to go outside to the big playground. We enjoyed playing basketball, drawing with sidewalk chalk, and climbing on the big equipment.
A fun day! Happy Mother's Day!
