Today we started off with gym time. We worked on our catching and throwing skills with volleyballs. It was great to watch several of the students now consistently catching the ball when it is thrown to them!
After gym time, we came back and enjoyed a review of Zacchaeus. We worked on a coloring page while singing the song. Next week we will talk about the Great Commission and how Jesus wants us to tell everyone about him!
After Jesus Time we read The Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. Our own caterpillars are growing and hopefully by next week they will start the next stage. We talked about the 4 parts of the butterfly's life cycle. During Center Time, each child made a book sequencing the 4 stages. They did a great job!
The students also had a chance to make some online butterfly art using the SMARTboard.
We also worked on tracing skills using the light tables and butterfly pictures.
The students cut half of the paper into strips to make a flip book. Then each student wrote the numbers 1-4 on each strip. Under the strip, they glued down what came first in the life cycle, second, etc. This activity joined so many skills together; it was fun to watch them complete this project!
See you next week!
