We enjoyed watching it snow today! Even though it was too cold to go out, we kept busy in the classroom!
Some of us enjoyed working our fine motor muscles and stringing beads onto shoelaces.
I also had a giant geoboard that I made and showed the kids how to make different shapes using the pegs and rubberbands. Some of us also used the circles to practice sorting.
Then during Jesus Time we reviewed the book that we looked at on Tuesday. We talked about how some of the things that Jesus did when he was a boy, we do!
Then, we did a special activity using puzzle pieces. Each student hid one in the room and then we had to find them.
We put them together and it made a picture, but there was one piece missing. We found the missing piece in the Bible. The picture was Jesus and I reminded the kids that we can find Jesus in the Bible!
Then we read the story of Jesus going to Jerusalem and how Mary and Joseph thought he was lost, but Jesus was in God's house the whole time. We sang the song, "In My Father's House" to remind us that we go to God's house too everytime we go to church.
Then because it was too cold for the gym, we worked with tossing beanbags to a partner. We tried to pass it to each other 10 times; some of us were close!
Then we practiced balancing and hopping on one foot!
We worked together to make a snowman fancy on our classroom wall. On Tuesday we painted snowmen using white paint so today I had the students finish their paintings. We put the snowman together on the wall so that the students could think about the parts they could put on their snowman.
It turned out pretty good!
Then we painted our snowman!
During Snack time, we all poured our own milk using a pitcher. A first for some of us! Pretty exciting to be so independent!
Then we enjoyed Center Time!
I pulled each student over to work on counting and sorting. Mrs. Robertson worked with each student on writing the letters in his/her name.
We ended the day with Journal Time. Each child wrote the first letter in his/her name!
Phew! A busy day!
