Today was a Chapel day so we went on the long trip to Zion's church. Mr. Debrick, Zion's principal, was our chapel leader and he talked about how our sins are washed away when we are baptized. Then we celebrated with kids that were baptized in the month of August or September. We had 2 students in our class that were baptized in those months, so it was exciting for us to watch those classmates come to the front of church and receive their special gift (see picture above). If you find one of these bookmarks in your child's folder or backpack, it is a gift from Zion to celebrate your child's baptism. Have fun growing those special seeds!
Today we practiced shaking hands (ask your child what kind of sticker went on his/her right hand). This is a great skill for your child to work on at home. We talk about how to look our friends in the eye and shake with our right hand.
We started a new center today-the writing center! Your child should have brought a little book home that may have some drawings in it, stampings, etc. At the writing center, there are all kinds of fun things for your child to use to develop small motor skills and develop pre-literacy skills.
Thank you to all who turned in your Fundraising Forms today. If you didn't have a chance to do that, you can turn it in on Thursday.
We didn't have a lot of pictures today! I was so involved that I forgot to take pictures! :)
