Today in our classroom, we finished up our unit on creation by talking about how God made us! It was fun for the kids to then draw a self-portrait. These portraits can be found in your child's portfolio which is located in the cubby room. Our devotion book will be finished next week, we weren't able to finish it today. Our Creation book will be in our class's Devotion Bag which will go home with each child. Your child will bring the bag home and your family can do the devotion together and then the next time your child comes to Preschool, please bring the bag back so that I can give it to the next family.
We also made Mat Man (not Batman) today! This goes with our Handwriting Without Tears writing curriculum. The kids really enjoyed creating it in the classroom and starting next week, you will have the chance to create it at home with your child. There will be a Mat Man Bag that will go home and your family will put Mat Man together and then take a picture of Mat Man and your child so that your child can share it with the class. I can't wait to see all the places Mat Man will go! :)
We also talked about lines today that go down and across and we looked at a painting that was done by Piet Mondrian that had lines going across and down. During Center Time, the kids worked with me making art just like Piet Mondrian.
